Here’s the deal — and no, this isn’t rumour mill stuff. The film’s costume designer confirmed SRK’s involvement, and multiple reports say he’s shooting his portions this month (March 2026).

Why This Matters Beyond the Hype
Look, we get a lot of “multi-starrer” announcements that fizzle out. But this one hits different for a few reasons.
First, this isn’t Bollywood doing Bollywood things. This is SRK stepping into Rajini’s territory — a Tamil film with a Tamil director and Tamil sensibilities. That kind of crossover used to be unthinkable. Now it’s becoming the norm, and we’re here for it.
Second, Jailer 1 was a genuine blockbuster. It made over Rs 600 crore worldwide. Rajinikanth proved he’s still got the mass pull at 70+. Adding SRK to the sequel isn’t desperation casting — it’s confidence.
Third, the Nelson + Anirudh combo is basically a cheat code for entertainment. Nelson knows how to write larger-than-life characters, and Anirudh knows how to give them a soundtrack that lives in your head rent-free.

Honestly? All three sound paisa vasool. Nelson has a track record of writing layered antagonists (see: Kamal Haasan in Vikram), so whatever role SRK gets, it’s probably going to be more than just “stylish bad guy enters, delivers one-liner, exits.”
Our Honest Take
We’re cautiously ekdum excited. The talent here is undeniable — you literally cannot assemble a more star-powered cast in Indian cinema right now. The only question is whether the script can balance two massive egos and give both superstars their moments without the film becoming a “who gets the bigger whistle” competition.
But if anyone can pull it off, it’s Nelson. The man juggled Rajini and Mohanlal in the first film without making either feel sidelined.
